We re-read the book Dan's Lost Hat and picked out a new word: 'whizzing'. We talked about how we can guess the meaning of the words by inferring from the pictures. We also looked at the meanings of the various movement words in the picture below:
Each pair worked together to collect the word cards. When a card was shown, they took turns to come to the front of the class to pick it up. They had to follow and act out the meaning of the word while doing so. So they had to tiptoe, march, skip, etc to be able to collect the cards. After collecting the cards, they arranged them into 'fast' and 'slow'.
And this is a picture of our first 'Dan' the flying man in class, taken last week. Some of the kids got to wear the flying hat as a 'reward' 😁
