Sorry for the long silence, I have been trying to recover fully from the post covid symptoms and it didn’t help when my days have been packed as I’ve been out and about handling school events.
A quick summary of what we did so far in class:
On Monday, we did a class writing on our first day of school. We used 9 out of the 10 spelling words in our writing.
On Tuesday, the kids worked in pairs to write a similar writing about their first day in class. They tried to use words in the word list as well.
Today, we used a checklist and did some editing of our friends’ work. We also revised our plural and singular nouns, and I retold the vowel and consonant stories as we learned to drop the letter y and add -ies to words that end with consonant y.
E.g. Baby ~ Babies
But if it ends with a vowel y, like in oy, ay, we add -s.
E.g. Toy ~ Toys
Day ~ Days
