You would probably not want to show your kids this post. 😂
The kids got really excited / worried / concerned about the fire alarm that was sounded today after their snack break. They kept asking where the fire was.
At first, we explained that it was a drill, but they couldn't understand. But one thing I knew for sure was that the rowdiest of kids were instantly well-behaved. I played along and said that the teachers were investigating the fire and we would just assemble with the rest to a safe place (we went to the hall today, one of the kids were so worried and said we should leave the school 😅). It was mentioned through the PA system that we have to avoid staircase 2 so the kids just assumed the fire was there (and I told them it's far away from the hall).
We practised lining up fast and walking in straight lines (it takes a lot more effort than you can imagine 😅) and we did well for our first fire drill. We did a worksheet on the dos and don'ts in a fire emergency as well.
And when we went back to class, the announcement said that the 'exercise' was over. I told the kids it was probably a small fire and the teachers used a fire extinguisher to put it out. When we went down for lunch after that, everyone started pointing out the fire extinguishers that were around the school. 😆
So please just help me keep this under wraps. Thank you! 😜
