Phonics Group 7 sounds + Oracy Practice

Today, the kids learnt to read words with the above sounds and wrote down words that have these sounds in them.

When it came to /qu/, quite a number of them spelled it as 'quik'. So we learnt when to use 'k' or 'ck' in our spelling.
Usually, when words have a single vowel sound just before the /k/ sound, we would use 'ck'.

We also had a speaking activity where they learn how to have a respectful conversation, using the question prompt, "Which is your favourite vehicle?"

They took turns to be the speaker and the listener and rated themselves after that.

It was quite funny to observe a pair of them who were so deep in conversation throughout, only to realise that they forgot about the actual topic they were supposed to be talking about. 😅🙈

We will be working on writing on the topic next lesson!
