When to Double the Consonant...

We revised the following topics in class: a/an, has/have (singular subject needs singular verbs) and how to read past tense '-ed'. The kids are obsessed, yet again, on the video that was shown yesterday on the 3 sounds of '-ed'. I think we have watched it at least 5 times now 😅

We re-read 'Crocodile Tea' as a class and identified the following past tense verbs:

snapped ('-ed' sounds like 't')
popped ('-ed' sounds like 't')
sneezed ('-ed' sounds like 'd')

We realised that for 'snap' and 'pop', we needed to double the consonant at the end. This video clearly shows the rule:


For homework, we will be finishing up p2 and 3 of the Grammar Usage worksheet. We did p. 16 in school.
